Allow me to luxuriate in the memory of our near-perfect holiday. On the morning of New Year's Eve, we jumped into the truck of Mister Man and headed to Seattle for the most laid back and perfect New Year's celebration EVER with our pals Lisa, Paul and Tessie the Wonder Dog. We took the scenic route, and I kind of loved this blurred impressionistic image that resulted as we wound our way along Chuckanut Drive
We arrived in time to slip into our pj's and relax. If you check out this image of Mister Man caught in the act of swilling the duty free, you'll see what I mean by relaxed.
It was a time of sitting around in our pj's, sipping wine (or guzzling bourbon) (see above), playing cribbage and Scattegories and eating delicious, hearty winter type fare.
There was even a doggie fashion show. Lulu models the latest in rain gear for canines....
But Miss Tessie cannot stand the notion of being excluded, so, bless her little paws, she barged in with a colour coordinated accessory.
And there was another fashion show too. Here Paul models his smokin' Canadian style, complete with accouterments.
There was also the feast:
And while it's true that I may have had a wee nap JUST before the clock struck 12, here's how we rang in the new year. Actually, this is our practice round as we watched the ball drop in New York at 9:00 PST.
But now it's back to the real world.
